Paola Turbay
Houston-born Latin-American actress Paola Turbay got her start working in films and television for the Spanish-speaking market in both the United States and Mexico; like many actresses in Spanish-language television, Turbay worked both in scripted series and as the co-host of popular variety shows. Her first major English-speaking role came in the short-lived drama "Cane," playing the wife of series star Jimmy Smits; although the soapy series was quickly cancelled, Turbay became an in-demand television actress, with recurring support roles on the teen-centered family drama "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," cult favorite vampire fantasy "True Blood," and medical comedy-drama "Royal Pains."
