An aspiring actress, Lucy Dolan, is found shot to death in her apartment above a busy delicatessen. Missing is an elaborate plasma screen television. Lucy worked at a seedy comedy club in Staten Island but obviously lived beyond her means. Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) search her locker at the club and find a stack of traffic violations, including a photo ticket. That leads them to the vehicle and intersection near the deli, where they see in the background, an out-of-town couple shooting videos. They track down the couple from Ohio, but they've already sold the footage to a local TV station. The cops get the tape and are able to track the vehicle, a beige Ford Explorer, and also in the photo see the suspects carrying the television. Tracking the vehicle through a Freemont Downs Racetrack VIP parking pass visible on the windshield, they have their suspects - Matt Carton (Omar Sharif Scroggins) and Harry Johnson (Malcolm Barrett). They get the third suspect, Daniel Otum (Dakoda Anderson), by sneaking around their high-end attorney's office.

Rick Devon's (guest star Bradford Cover) body is found murdered in a park, and his death is automatically assumed to be drug related. Upon investigation, detectives Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) stumble upon a key in a nearby bathroom that could potentially have been left behind by the killer. Prints on the key lead the detectives to former felon, Diego Cardenas (guest star Carlos Leon), who has cleaned up his act and now works at a home for mentally challenged adults. After questioning Diego, the detectives discover a hidden relationship between the murder victim and another resident of the home, Pete Haynes (guest star Michael Rispoli). Rick and Pete’s relationship guides the detectives to uncover a painful family secret that could expose the killer. S. Epatha Merkerson, Sam Waterston, Linus Roache and Alana De La Garza also star.

The God Account unfriends Miles after he’s reluctant to act on the latest friend suggestion – a young woman who’s dealing with emotional trauma following the death of her sister. Also, Cara reconnects with her ex-boyfriend, Eli (guest star KYLE HARRIS); Jaya stuns Rakesh with some news; and Arthur is uncomfortable when Miles turns to his uncle Terrance (guest star MALIK YOBA) for advice instead of him.

Sadie Ellis (Katherine Heigl), a successful defense lawyer, starts to fall for her charismatic client, Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale), who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.
