Olivia Brown
On the iconic 1980s series "Miami Vice," the characters of Crockett and Tubbs, played by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, had help in the crime solving department. One of their key on-screen supporters was the character Detective Trudy Joplin, played by Olivia Brown. In terms of the way it solved crimes and portrayed the ersatz glamour of its south Florida locale, "Miami Vice" was very much a precursor of today's Anthony Zuiker-created smash, "CSI: Miami." While the Mann program remains the highlight of Brown's career, she has continued to work consistently through the decades as a reliable TV co-star. She was Patricia Hamilton on nine episodes of family drama "7th Heaven," Vanessa Hargraves on a handful of "Designing Women" installments, and Lois Hendrix on a two-part adventure above "The Love Boat." During her run on "Miami Vice," she was married from 1983 through 1985 to co-star Mykelti Williamson.
