Nivea
American R&B singer Nivea was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She started out by singing in a church choir, which eventually led to her own career in the music industry. She first appeared in a single by fellow artist Mystikal, which generated some buzz. She signed with Jive Records and released her first solo single afterwards, focusing on the international market first. A year after the release of her first album, she received a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or a Group with Vocals. During the mid to late 2000s, she released a second album, "Complicated" (2005), and went on to give birth to twins, subsequently departing from her label and signing with Formula Records instead. Her third album was a Japan-exclusive release, and led to Nivea taking a break from the industry to focus on her family, up until 2010, when she made her return. During the mid to late 2010s, she focused on rebuilding her career, releasing acoustic albums, and exploring different genres, such as neo soul and pop, besides R&B. She has since appeared in the reality shows "Queens Court" (Peacock, 2022-24) and "BET Presents: The Encore" (BET, 2021).
