Nina Wadia
Nina Wadia was born in Bombay, India, and grew up in Hong Kong. Among a series of one-off parts in the mid 1990s, Wadia landed her first regular role on the sketch comedy series "Goodness Gracious Me" (BBC Two 1998-2001), born of the radio show of the same name. Following the conclusion of the program, Wadia found work in recurring roles on a number of television series, namely "Perfect World" (BBC Two 2000-01) and "All About Me" (BBC One 2002-04). However, her longest gig by far would come in the form of a part on "EastEnders" (BBC One 1985-), on which she played the character Zainab Masood for a stretch of six years. After parting with the series in 2013, Wadia went on to star as Mrs. Hussein on the sitcom "Still Open All Hours" (BBC One 2013-), and to appear in feature films like "Amar Akbar & Tony" (2015), "A Street Cat Named Bob" (2016), and "Finding Fatimah" (2017).
