Nels Lennarson
Character actor Nels Lennarson is a regular presence in films and television shows, especially those filmed in his Canadian homeland. The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native made his television debut in 1999, in an episode of the time-travel action drama "Seven Days"; he later returned to the series in a different small part in another episode. His first feature film role was a small part as a policeman in the erotic mystery "Dangerous Attraction," starring Rae Dawn Chong; his next feature film cameo was also as a policeman, albeit in the quite different context of the Wayans Brothers' hit spoof "Scary Movie." His first feature film role of real import was a supporting part in Sean Penn's gritty drama "The Pledge," but that prestigious film was followed by a return to low budget indies and guest appearances on Canadian-shot TV series, including fare such as the "based on a true story" TV movie docudrama "D.C. Sniper: 23 Days Of Fear" and the direct to video family comedy "Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch." Lennarson has appeared in dozens of television series and TV movies, in a wide variety of genres, from romantic comedy to horror. But because so many syndicated science fiction series are filmed in Canada due to the country's subsidized filming costs, Lennarson is familiar to sci-fi fans for his guest spots on cult favorite series like "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate: Atlantis."
