Nate Smith

Nate Smith was a comedic television actor who was best known for his recurring role in Seeso's 70s comedy series "There's Johnny" (2017-). As a young boy Smith had an uncanny ability to make people laugh. He also knew he wanted to be a professional actor one day, so naturally Smith gravitated towards improvisational comedy. By the mid-2000s he was performing regularly at the iconic UCB Theater in New York City, where he was able to hone his comedic chops nightly before a live audience. After a few years of honing his comedy chops on stage, Smith began landing film and TV roles. He nabbed his first film role in 2010 with a small part in the indie comedy-drama "Hello Lonesome" (2010), and by the early 2010s was landing guest spots on various TV shows like "Happy Endings" (ABC, 2011-13), "Inside Amy Schumer" (Comedy Central, 2013-), and "Modern Family" (ABC, 2009-). Smith continued nabbing mostly guest spots on TV before landing his first big break in 2014 with a recurring role on the Amazon comedy series "Red Oaks" (Amazon, 2014-). Smith played Skip on "Red Oaks" for 10 episodes. While appearing on "Red Oaks," Smith was simultaneously acting in the Bravo comedy series "Odd Mom Out" (Bravo, 2015-). After close to a decade grinding away as a working film and TV actor, Smith landed his breakout role in 2017 when he joined the cast of "There's Johnny." Set in early 1970s Los Angeles, the series follows the crew working behind-the-scenes at "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" (NBC, 1954-). The series debuted on the streaming comedy network in late 2017.
