Zack and Cody are assigned to the same team for a science project and Cody is upset because he knows he will end-up doing all the work. Zack takes naturally to the subject; inspecting germs, while Cody becomes germ phobic and doesn't help Zack at all. Zack believes he has discovered "black mold" in the hotel's kitchen, causing panic.

Zack and Cody try to impress their dates with the help & knowledge of a young world traveler who is visiting the hotel. All the boy asks for in return is some bowling lessons that Zack and Cody blow-off. (special guest Jadin Smith). Meanwhile, Maddie fantasizes about and falls for a guy through the information she gathers from his phone that he lost at the hotel.
