Moon Bloodgood

Korinna Moon Bloodgood was born in Anaheim, CA. Her father was of Irish-Dutch descent and her mother was from South Korea, where the couple met while he was stationed there for military service. The actress credited her mixed heritage and ethnically ambiguous looks as a blessing when it came to being cast in a variety of onscreen roles. Bloodgood landed her first high-profile job as a professional cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers. She also worked as a dancer on a number of concert tours, including Prince, Brandy, and rock band The Offspring. Bloodgood's natural beauty helped her land lucrative contracts with cosmetics giants Revlon, L'Oreal, and Avon. She made her onscreen acting debut on the comedy series "Just Shoot Me" (NBC, 1997-2003), appearing on the 2002 episode "Halloween? Halloween!" It was not long until Bloodgood was cast in a starring role opposite Taye Diggs in the ABC series, "Day Break" (2006). Her acting career soon extended to the big screen, with minor roles in the romantic comedies "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" (2004) with Josh Duhamel, and "A Lot Like Love" (2005) with Ashton Kutcher.In 2007, Bloodgood was cast in NBC's time-traveling series "Journeyman," which unfortunately failed to take off due to low ratings and the Writers Guild of America strike that year. NBC eventually cancelled "Journeyman" in December 2007, which opened more opportunities for Bloodgood to take on various film projects. She joined an all-star cast of actors in the comedy-drama "What Just Happened" (2008) that included Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, Catherine Keener and Bruce Willis. Bloodgood mixed her dance and athletic training when she played Detective Maya Sunee in the martial arts-filled "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" opposite Kristin Kreuk and Chris Klein. However, it was in "Terminator Salvation" that the actress' action star potential shown through. She played a tough-as-nails pilot named Blair Williams who fought alongside the Resistance team led by protagonist John Connor (Christian Bale). The film's director McG sang Bloodgood's praises for continuing the franchise's empowered female characters, which began with Linda Hamilton in "Terminator" (1984) and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991). "Terminator Salvation" opened at No. 2 during its first weekend at the box office, and was also a hit overseas. Millions also took note of Bloodgood's striking features, which landed her an appearance in People magazine's "100 Most Beautiful" issue in 2009. That same year, Bloodgood was cast in a recurring role on the USA crime drama series "Burn Notice" as a detective who attempts to shut down the investigative unit lead by blacklisted CIA agent Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan). Offscreen, Bloodgood and Donovan were rumored to be dating for a time. In 2011, Bloodgood co-starred opposite Noah Wylie on "Falling Skies" (TNT), a Steven Spielberg-produced series about an alien invasion.
