Miriam McDonald
Miriam McDonald got her start on the Canadian sketch comedy show "System Crash." The humor helped her hone her craft, but her signature role wouldn't come until a couple years down the road. She is primarily known for playing Emma Nelson on the popular, long-running "Degrassi: The Next Generation," first portraying the character as a normal teenager and then as an earnest, socially-aware college student. McDonald also appeared in the made-for-television movies "Degrassi Spring Break Movie," "Degrassi Goes Hollywood," and "Degrassi Takes Manhattan." Along with working in the "Degrassi" franchise, McDonald has co-starred in many TV and feature films, such as "She's Too Young," the World War II drama "The Poet," the horror movie "Devil's Diary," the and sultry "Poison Ivy 4: The Secret Society." McDonald has also done extensive voice-work for various animated programs, including "Pecola," John Kricfalusi's "The Ripping Friends," and in several commercials. When not appearing on screen, the actress often performs as a dancer.
