Michael Kirby

Michael Kirby was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Kirby appeared in such films as "Summer Holiday" (1948), the Sonja Henie musical "The Countess of Monte Cristo" (1948) and "The Silent Partner" (1978). He also appeared in the drama "In Praise of Older Women" (1979) with Tom Berenger and the comedy "Meatballs" (1979) with Bill Murray. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in the William Shatner thriller "The Kidnapping of the President" (1980), the James Coburn drama "Mr. Patman" (1980) and the Elliott Gould thriller "Dirty Tricks" (1981). He also appeared in "The King Chronicle" (1988). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Golden Boat" (1991), "Shadows and Fog" (1992) and "Swoon" (1992) with Daniel Schlachet. He also appeared in the drama "The Keeper" (1997) with Giancarlo Esposito and "The Atrocity Exhibition" (1999). Most recently, Kirby acted on "Boston Public" (Fox, 2000-04).
