Mel Martin
Mel Martin was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Martin's career began with roles in "The Pallisers" (1976-77), "Cover Her Face" (PBS, 1986) and "Game, Set & Match" (PBS, 1988-89). He had an early role on the television special "Sweeney Todd" (PBS, 1982-83). He also took on a few movie roles at the time, appearing in the drama "Business As Usual" (1988) with Glenda Jackson. He also landed a role in the miniseries "Darlings of the Gods" (1990-91). As his entertainment career progressed, he appeared in "White Hunter, Black Heart" (1990) with Clint Eastwood. He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Melba" (PBS, 1988-89) and "Summer's Lease" (PBS, 1990-91). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Born and Bred (BBC)" (BBC 1, 2001-05). He also was featured in the TV movie "Dalziel & Pascoe: Deadheads" (1997-98). Most recently, Martin appeared in "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (Bravo, 2003-04).
