Megan Gale
Born in Australia to parents of English and Polynesian descent, Megan Gale's career started somewhat quietly. Her breakthrough modeling job came at the comparatively late age of 24, when she appeared in an advertising campaign for an Italian telemarketing company. She quickly became one of the most famous Australians in Italy, which led to guest acting roles in a variety of films, beginning with "Christmas Vacation 2000" (1999). In the early 2000s, she continued to model, splitting her time between Italy and Australia. Along the way, she started hosting TV shows, most notably the Australian shows "Getaway" (Nine Network 1992-) and "What a Year" (Nine Network 2006-07). By 2005, she was starting to transition to America, as she appeared in a small role in the Jamie Foxx-starring summer blockbuster "Stealth" (2005). While she didn't appear in any other American films over the next few years, she was cast as Wonder Woman in the doomed "Justice League: Mortal" film, which was set to be directed by "Mad Max" creator George Miller. That same year, Gale retired from catwalk modelling, closing out her catwalk career by wearing the Wonder Woman outfit she was slated to wear in the film. Gale made her Australian film debut shortly after with "I Love You Too" (2010), and then moved on to a small part in the Russell Crowe-starring historical drama "The Water Diviner" (2014). She reunited with George Miller for the key role of Valkyrie in the series reboot "Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015).
