Meera Rohit Kumbhani
Actress Meera Rohit Kumbhani began her career in theatre before moving into television with leading roles in sitcoms "Weird Loners" (Fox, 2015) and "Donny!" (USA Network, 2015-). Born in Florida to Indian computer engineer parents, Kumbhani moved to San Francisco with her family aged eight and initially intended to pursue a career in science, graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Neurobiology. But it was her minor in Theater Arts that Kumbhani built on, going on to receive an MFA in acting from Columbia University and tread the boards in various off-Broadway productions including the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar's "The Who and the What" at the La Jolla Playhouse. Kumbhani made her on-screen debut in a 2010 CollegeHumor Originals sketch and went onto briefly appear in police procedural "NYC 22" (CBS, 2012) and psychological drama "Black Box" (ABC, 2014) and land key roles in horror web series "Carpe Noctem" (2012) and satirical short film "Deadline" (2014). Kumbhani bagged her first leading part with the help of a self-made audition tape in New York misfits comedy "Weird Loners" (Fox, 2015), playing commitment-phobic bisexual artist Zara. Following the show's cancelation, Kumbhani was cast as Zoe, one of Donny Deutsch's three long-suffering assistants, in the meta-sitcom "Donny!" (USA Network, 2015-).
