Matthew Owen Murray

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Matthew Owen Murray's dual American/Canadian citizenship allowed him to attend theatre school at Humber College in Toronto. Although Murray and his brother nearly signed a music deal with Universal before graduating, Murray was determined to finish and returned for his final year of school. Once finished, Murray decided to focus on acting and quickly found success. He landed a recurring role on "The L.A. Complex" (The CW, 2012), then a series regular role as the new rookie on the last two seasons of "Rookie Blue" (ABC, 2010-15). Both shows were Canadian productions. Murray's first success south of the border came when he landed a series regular role on "Kevin From Work" (ABC Family, 2015), then a recurring role as a Sherriff's Deputy on "Eyewitness" (USA, 2016). In 2017, it was announced that Murray would be a series regular on the new comedy "9JKL" (CBS, 2017-), about family members who live on the same floor of an apartment building.
