Matt Ward

Matt Ward was a Canadian actor who was best known for his recurring role on the American comedy-drama series "The Bold Type" (Freeform, 2017-). Born and raised in Canada, Ward was a skilled gymnast and dancer as a young boy. By the time he hit his teens, Ward was able to turn his love of dancing into a successful career. In addition to touring as a dancer with such big name hip hop acts as Snoop Dogg and Ludacris, Ward also worked on the choreography for several popular marketing campaigns. After a number of years working as a professional dancer, Ward began taking an interest in acting. He started auditioning for film and TV roles in his native Canada, and in 2007 nabbed his first part as a dancer in the Jamie Kennedy comedy "Kickin' It Old Skool" (2007). Although the part was small, it instilled in Ward the confidence he needed to pursue a career in acting, and over the next few years he landed parts in "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem" (2007), "Ace of Hearts" (2008), "Charlie St. Cloud" (2010), "TRON: Legacy" (2010), and various others. With his film-acting career on the rise, Ward nabbed his first recurring TV role in 2014 on the Canadian medical drama "Remedy" (Global, 2014). That series, however, was cancelled after its second season. Undeterred, Ward continued nabbing small TV roles on shows like "Arrow" (The CW, 2012-) and "The Arrangement" (E!, 2017-), before he joined the cast of "The Bold Type" as Alex in 2017.
