Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz
Matilda Lutz was an Italian model and actress who was best known for starring in the 2016 American horror film "Rings." Born and raised in a small town just outside of the cosmopolitan city of Milan, Italy, Lutz practically grew up surrounded by the tony international fashion industry. A self-proclaimed shy girl, however, it was never her dream to be an actress, which is why her path to Hollywood stardom was so unlikely. A dazzling beauty, Lutz was handpicked by a talent scout when she was in her teens to embark on a modeling career. Before long she was traveling the world as one of Italy's most internationally respected models, thus building a name for herself in the rough-and-tumble global fashion industry. After a few years of working in the fashion industry, however, and coming to the realization that most models' careers fizzled out by their mid- to late-20s, on a whim Lutz decided to go to acting school in New York. After a few years spent honing her craft, she started auditioning for film and TV roles. She started off small, appearing in a short film in 2011, but by 2013 she had landed a supporting role in the Italian comedy-drama "The Fifth Wheel" (2013). The following year Lutz joined the cast of the Italian TV series "Fuoriclasse" (2011-15). She appeared on the series for 16 episodes, thus further breaking out of her modeling past and establishing herself as an actress. Then in 2106 Lutz had a breakout year, after she appeared in three different movies, "L'Universale," "Summertime," and "Rings." "Rings," which was released in October of 2016, was Lutz's first role in an American film, and starred the high-profile Hollywood actors Vincent D'Onofrio and Johnny Galecki.
