Mary Travers

Grammy-winning Mary Travers was a cherished music legend with an exceptional career. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "The Kingston Trio and Friends: Reunion" (1981-82), "The Peter, Paul & Mary 25th Anniversary Concert" (PBS, 1985-86) and "The Story of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem" (PBS, 1985-86). A few of her roles at the time were also in movies like "The Weavers: Wasn't That a Time!" (1981) with Pete Seeger. Travers also contributed music to "The Odd Angry Shot" (1979). She also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "A Peter, Paul & Mary Holiday Concert" (1988-89), "Peter, Paul and Mommy, Too" (PBS, 1992-93) and "This Was America... 1963" (Disney, 1992-93). She also worked in film during these years, including a part on the documentary "Heartstrings: Peter, Paul & Mary in Central America" (1987) with Peter Yarrow. She also appeared in the Leon Bibb documentary "Isn't This a Time! A Tribute Concert for Harold Levanthal" (2005). Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "November 22, 1993: Where Were You? A Larry King Special Live From Washington" (1993-94), "Gail Sheehy's New Passages" (ABC, 1995-96) and "Peter, Paul & Mary: Lifelines" (PBS, 1995-96). She also appeared in "The Great American History Quiz" (History, 1998-99). Travers last appeared on the documentary "Pete Seeger: The Power of Song" (2007) with Pete Seeger. Travers passed away in September 2009 at the age of 73.
