Mary-Kate Olsen

Mary-Kate Olsen was born in Sherman Oaks, CA. Along with her twin sister Ashley, Olsen was cast as the infant Michelle Tanner on the popular family sitcom "Full House" (ABC 1987-1995) before she was even a year old. The Olsen twins would continue to share the role of Michelle for the duration of the series' run, in the meantime headlining TV movies like "To Grandmother's House We Go" (ABC 1992) and "Double, Double, Toil and Trouble" (ABC 1993), as well as a series comedic short films under the "The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley" banner, which continued into the early 2000s. The sisters earned their first starring roles in a feature with the comedy "It Takes Two" (1995), and then went on to costar in the teen-veering sitcoms "Two of a Kind" (ABC 1998) and "So Little Time" (Fox Family/ABC Family 2001-02). Mary-Kate's final film role playing opposite her sister was "New York Minute" (2004). Around this time, she enrolled in New York University. Shortly afterward, she was hospitalized briefly and was diagnosed with anorexia. Afterwards, she branched out with roles in the likes of the crime dramedy series "Weeds" (Showtime 2005-2012), in which she played a religious drug dealer, and the romantic dramedy "The Wackness" (2008). Next, Olsen starred in "Beastly" (2011), a modern-day retelling of the "Beauty and the Beast" fairy tale, in which she occupied the role of Kendra, the equivalent to the witch who curses the beast in the source material. In 2015, Olsen married Olivier Sarkozy, half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
