When forced to release their main suspect, the Chicago PD joins the SVU in New York in pursuit of Yates (guest star Dallas Roberts).

Alicia, Diane and Will must regroup when they're caught off-guard by a brilliant disabled attorney, Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox), who uses his condition to sway a jury during a test case for a huge class action suit against a pharmaceutical company. Meanwhile, Peter's campaign is at a loss as to what to do with rising star Wendy Scott-Carr, and Kalinda reaches out to a former friend, Donna Seabrook, to tell her to stop spilling her secrets to Blake.

Chalky heads in a new direction after assessing his latest partnership. In New York, Margaret finds herself in a quandary as a result of her association with Arnold Rothstein. Nucky hosts a prospective "big fish" partner from Boston. Luciano and Siegel meet with Narcisse in Harlem, promising business as usual but encountering resistance. In 1884, young Nucky is privy to the passion of a hotel guest, and flirts with a young girl.

When Linda's brother, Jimmy (Kevin Dillon), gets into trouble with the mob, he begs Danny to help him stay safe until it blows over. Also, Frank faces a public relations nightmare when the lawyer of a wrongfully arrested man demands that NYPD officers' disciplinary records be made public, and Nicky goes on a ride-along with Jamie.
