Martin Wallström

Martin Wallstrom was a Swedish actor who rose to prominence in the U.S. in 2015 by landing the supporting role of Tyrell Wellick on the USA Network's tech thriller "Mr. Robot" (USA, 2015-). Born and raised in Sweden, Wallstrom began acting professionally in his late teens in various Swedish TV shows and films. He made his big screen debut in the 1998 Swedish comedy-drama "Love Fools" (1998), and two years later followed that up with a small part in the crime drama "Before the Storm" (2000). By the mid-2000s Wallstrom started landing parts in numerous highly-acclaimed Swedish mini-series, like "Familjen" (2002), "Lokalreportern" (2004), and "How Soon Is Now?" (2007). In 2010 he started gaining attention in the United States with a role in the romantic drama "Simple Simon." Although a Swedish film, "Simple Simon" drew wide praise in the U.S., and was also on the short list for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 Oscars. With his new found fame, Wallstrom began appearing in higher profile projects, including the 2014 drama "Remake," as well as the Swedish crime series "100 Code" (2015). Then in October of 2014 it was announced that Wallstrom had landed a part in the upcoming cyber thriller TV show "Mr. Robot." Although a relatively new face to American audiences, Wallstrom quickly became one of the show's breakout stars, with his sterling performance as the insatiable Tyrell Wellick, the scheming vice president of a tech firm, being lauded by both critics and audiences alike. In July of 2016 the eagerly awaited second season of "Mr. Robot" premiered on the USA Network, with Wallstrom reprising his role as Wellick.
