Marlyn Mason

Television actress Marlyn Mason made her TV debut in 1960 with an appearance on the offbeat detective drama "Johnny Midnight." After establishing herself with a string of one-offs on a variety of programs, Mason scored a recurring role on two different hospital dramas in 1965; the first was the gritty Vince Edwards series "Ben Casey," the other the dashing Richard Chamberlain drama "Dr. Kildare." In 1967, Mason balanced her TV work with her Broadway debut in the comedy-musical "How Now, Dow Jones." Her performance gained her enough attention to earn her a lead role in the Elvis Presley musical-comedy film "The Trouble with Girls," which was arguably the best-known of the handful of films in which Mason appeared. Though she never became a big star, she's proved prolific in television, where she's appeared in more than 80 different programs. By the late 1990s, the aging actress grew much more selective about the roles she'd portray. In 2008, this judgment proved effective, when Mason earned acclaim for her work on the dramatic short film "Model Rules," which she wrote and starred in.
