Marco López
Actor Marco Lopez had spent years as a stand-in, extra, and bit-part actor before working for Jack Webb's production company Mark VII. While there, he became Webb's stand-in while the actor and ex-cop filmed his hit series "Dragnet." Some of the films Lopez had been in before working with Webb included the Western "Broken Lance," the submarine drama "The Enemy Below," and the musicals "The King and I" and "South Pacific." But his stand-in job for Webb would prove to be fortuitous in the long run. He played a cop in several episodes of "Dragnet" and worked for other studios as well, filming episodes of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," "McCloud," and "Mission: Impossible." In 1969, Webb gave him an actual role for his new series "Adam-12" as Officer Sanchez. It was small potatoes, but more substantial than being a double. The show "Emergency!," with Lopez playing the character of Fireman Marco Lopez, was his biggest role yet and what he's most remembered for today. He costarred on the show for its entire seven-year run.
