Maisy Stella
Maisy Stella, born in the city of Oshawa, Ontario, was the younger of two daughters by Brad and Marylynne Stella, who performed in their own singing group, The Stellas. Maisy and her older sister, Lennon, were raised on a remote farm in the rural village of Claremont, Ontario, where they were introduced to music at a very early age. The siblings soon learned to play various instruments and sing in two-part harmony, which they put to use on stage at several of their parents' concerts. During this period, Maisy also nurtured an interest in acting, and made appearances in several television commercials. In 2009, the Stella family moved to Nashville to pursue their respective music careers. Lennon & Maisy soon made an extraordinary splash in 2012 with a cover of Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend," which generated more than 50 million views on YouTube. In 2012, Maisy auditioned for a role on a new music industry drama for ABC titled "Nashville." Upon discovering that she performed in a sister act, the show's casting directors hired both Lennon and Maisy to play Maddie and Daphne Conrad, the daughters of country music queen Rayna James (Connie Britton) by two separate men - her husband, Teddy Conrad (Eric Close) and her guitarist, Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten). The success of the series lent considerable exposure to Lennon & Maisy's own music career: the duo scored two back-to-back Top 40 singles on the country charts with a cover of the Lumineers' "Hey Ho" and "A Life That's Good" in 2013. The sisters were then asked to open for Taylor Swift's tour that same year, and issued a slew of singles over the next two years, including a 2015 cover of Charli XCX's "Boom Clap."
