Louise Lombard

Louise Lombard has long specialized in playing women who don't get by just on their looks but rely on intelligence and wiles as well. After acting in commercials as a teenager, she made a number of small screen appearances during the late '80s; however, it wasn't until the early '90s that she began receiving widespread notice thanks to a pair of British serials. One was "The House of Eliott," a drama about a pair of impoverished sisters who start a dressmaking business that they nurture into a success. During this time, she also appeared in "Chancer," a contemporary drama starring Clive Owen as a con man with an especially troubling past. Lombard played Anna, a petty criminal who finds herself caught between two powerful, not quite moral men--a situation that eventually ropes in Owen's main character. Following these two successes, she did more television and film work, her most high-profile movie role being Lady Anne Davenport, an aristocrat who assists Viggo Mortensen and his trusty horse in a race across a desert in the 2004 adventure epic "Hidalgo." Since then, she has become recognizable on television thanks to the hit series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," where she plays highly professional, but occasionally conflicted police detective Sofia Curtis, and the popular "NCIS," in which she played Special Agent Lara Macy.
