Lou Gilbert

Lou Gilbert has built an incredible presence on the big screen throughout his acting career. Gilbert's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the biographical drama "Viva Zapata!" (1952) with Marlon Brando, the dramatic adaptation "Middle of the Night" (1959) with Kim Novak and the dramatic adaptation "Requiem For a Heavyweight" (1962) with Anthony Quinn. He also appeared in "Across the River" (1965). He continued to act in productions like "Goldstein" (1965), "Juliet of the Spirits" (1965) with Giulietta Masina and "Petulia" (1968) with Julie Christie. He also appeared in the comedic fantasy "Fearless Frank" (1969) with Jon Voight. In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "The Great White Hope" (1970) with James Earl Jones, the comedy "Jennifer on My Mind" (1971) with Michael Brandon and "Marathon Man" (1976). Gilbert was most recently credited in the Roy Scheider thrilling adaptation "Last Embrace" (1979). He also was featured in the TV movie "Raid on Entebbe" (NBC, 1976-77). Gilbert passed away in November 1978 at the age of 69.
