Lola Beltrán
Throughout her Hollywood career, Lola Beltran had a variety of powerful musical performances. In 1954, she began starring on her own radio program and became extremely popular in Mexico. In 1988, she sang "Soy Infeliz" ("I Am Unhappy") for Pedro Almodovar's "Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown." In 1953, she moved to Mexico City to work as a radio station secretary. Beltran's music was featured in the comedy "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" (1988) with Carmen Maura. Her music was also used in the Lic documentary "The Devil Never Sleeps" (1994). Beltran's music was most recently featured in "No Country for Old Men" (2007). Beltran was married to Alfredo Leal and had one child. Beltran passed away in March 1996 at the age of 64.
