Lois Weber
Lois Weber worked on a variety of projects during her entertainment career. In 1917, she formed her own company. She began writing, directing and acting in Gaumont's Chronophone pictures. The first directing credit Weber had to her name was on the project "For Husbands Only" (1918). Additional projects like "What Do Men Want?" (1921). Came next in the twenties and the thirtiesLater in her career, Weber directed "White Heat" (1934). Weber's husband was Phillips Smalley. Weber passed away in November 1939 at the age of 68.
