Lindsay Ell
Canadian country music singer/songwriter Lindsay Ell was born, in Calgary, Alberta. She began taking piano lessons at the age of six, and at eight she discovered her father's guitar collection. She began writing songs when she was ten, and co-wrote most of the songs on her first album, "Consider This," which was released in 2006. During this time, she was also class valedictorian at Bishop Carroll High School, and she would go on to study music at Berklee College of Music as well as business at the University of Calgary. Her second album, "Alone," was released in 2009. After several trips to Nashville to work on her songwriting, she moved permanently to the city in 2010, signing with Stoney Creek Records. Her first single, "Trippin' On Us," was released in December 2013, and in April 2014, she made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry. In March 2017, she released the EP "Worth the Wait." Her third album, "The Project," was released in August 2017 and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Country chart, and at No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. The two lead singles from this album were "Waiting on You" and "Criminal," both of which received extensive airplay in both the U.S. and Canada. She has toured with such performers as Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Gretchen Wilson, and has been nominated for a CMT Music Award as well as for several Canadian Country Music Association awards, including Female Artist of the Year in 2017.
