Libertad Lamarque
Libertad Lamarque made her mark in the world of entertainment when she appeared on "Evita: The Woman Behind the Myth" (1996-97). In 1923, she landed her first professional role in the stage show "Madre Tierra." In 1940, she was offered a seven-year contract by Paramount, which she declined. In 1929, she made her film debut in the silent "Adios Argentina." In 1932, she starred in Argentina's first sound feature, "Tango." In 1947, she performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC.
