Liane Balaban
A former journalism student who started acting on the advice of a family friend, Canadian actress Liane Balaban has starred in several feature films and primetime television shows. Her first role, as a teenage loner in the film "New Waterford Girl," won her critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival. In 2008, she made her Hollywood debut in the romantic comedy "Definitely, Maybe," and next appeared as Dustin Hoffman's daughter in "Last Chance Harvey." In addition to her work in TV shows such as "Alphas," where she played a superpowered rebel leader, Balaban is also a member of the Montreal-based experimental electro band We Are Molecules.
