Lauren Socha
Best known for her performance as sharp-tongued juvenile delinquent Kelly Bailey on the supernatural series "Misfits," Lauren Socha has also won critical acclaim for her supporting role in actress Samantha Morton's award-winning directorial debut "The Unloved." Socha's portrayal of Lauren, a rebellious teen who suffers abuse and humiliation while living in a children's home, earned her a BAFTA Supporting Actress nomination and paved the way for more high-profile roles; she appeared as a distraught teen in the well-received BBC mini-series "Five Daughters," which dramatizes the events surrounding the serial murders of five Ipswich prostitutes in 2006; starred as a young Marilyn Monroe in the short film "The Child"; and appeared in the music video for "When The Sun Goes Down," the second single from the Arctic Monkeys' debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not." In 2009 Socha, the younger sister of "This Is England '86" star Michael Socha, was cast as Kelly in "Misfits," a sci-fi comedic drama that chronicles the adventures of a group of out-of-control teens who mysteriously acquire superpowers during a freak electrical storm. She won a BAFTA in 2011 for her performance as the good-natured but rough-around-the edges Kelly, who has telepathic powers and superhuman intelligence.
