Laura Bozzo
Laura Bozzo was a controversial Spanish-language television host well known for her lively and popular talk show broadcast all over Latin America and the United States. Laura Cecilia Bozzo Rotondo was born in Callao, Peru to parents of Italian, Spanish and Quechua descent. Bozzo went to law school in Lima, Peru and received degrees in law and political science. Bozzo's bombastic talk show, "Laura en América" (1997) featured people with personal issues like infidelity and paternity questions confronting each other in front of a live studio audience, much like the American talk show "The Jerry Springer Show" (1991). In 1998, the show began airing on Telemundo in the United States and soon started to be shown all over Latin America. In 2007, Bozzo premiered a new version of the show called "Laura en acción" on Telemundo until that series ended in 2008. Bozzo then moved to Mexico and began working with Televisa, one of the world's most influential Spanish-speaking television networks. She continued to do versions of her talk show under different titles like "Laura en acción" (2007) and "Laura" (2011).
