Kroy Biermann

National Football League (NFL) linebacker Kroy Biermann was a top college player who enjoyed an eight-year run, marked by an impressive record of 23.5 sacks and 331 tackles, for the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills between 2008 and 2016. Born Kroy Evan Biermann in Hardin, Montana, he was a star athlete in three sports while attending Hardin High School, earning three letters in both football and wrestling and an additional two in track and field. Football, however, was his showcase sport, and he was both First-team All-State and First-team All-Conference in 2002 and 2003 before enrolling at the University of Montana. There, he landed in the school's history books for the second most sacks in its history (32) while also logging 220 tackles, nine forced fumbles and seven fumbled recoveries. In 2007, he was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive MVP and the state's only recipient of the Buck Buchanan Award, given annually by The Sports Network to the top defensive player in Division 1 Football. The following year, Biermann was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and soon amassed respectable numbers, including two sacks and 14 tackles in his freshman year and three sacks - including two in one game - in 2009. He was soon added to the starting lineup, and recorded two touchdowns, including a tip to himself off a pass from Jake Delhomme that he ran back 41 yards for a touchdown. He continued to play well with the Falcons until 2013, when a torn tendon kept him off the field for the entire regular season. He rebounded in 2014 with 4.5 sacks during the season and earned a new one-year, $1,925,000 contract with the team for 2015. He capped that season with 55 tackles and 2.5 sacks, but decided to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2016. He signed a one-year contract with the Bills in August of that year, but was let go as part of final roster cuts less than a month later. He appeared to contend himself with the role of devoted father and reality star on the Bravo series "Don't be Tardy" (2012-), which focused on his wife, former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" (Bravo, 2008-) star Kim Zolciak, and their sizable brood.
