Kevin Michael Martin
Actor Kevin Michael Martin advanced from bit parts in shorts and television series to cast member of the popular TNT science fiction drama "The Last Ship" (2014-). By his own account, he was a middling student in the Illinois school system, but discovered that changes to both his approach to studies and his attitude would help him to achieve his long-term goal of an acting career. Within two years' time, Martin had enrolled in UCLA as a transfer student and upon graduation, began landing appearances in television commercials and minor roles in series and short films. To support himself between these efforts, Martin also invested in the stock market, which yielded lucrative financial returns. Soon, his acting career also blossomed, thanks to guest roles on series like "Desperate Housewives" (ABC, 2004-2012). In 2014, Martin was cast as Seaman Eric Miller on "The Last Ship." The youthful Miller -a member of the Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) team on the fictional Navy vessel "Nathan James" - was a recurring character for the series' first season before being promoted to Gunner's Mate Second Class and series regular. During this period, Martin also co-wrote, directed and appeared in two short films, "Reflection" (2011) and "Ritual" (2014), with his brothers and production partners, Jimmy and Jack.
