Ken Swofford

Character actor and redhead Ken Swofford began his career in the company of the estimable Cary Grant with an uncredited part in the comedy "Father Goose," and he worked through the 1960s on TV Westerns like "The Virginian" and "The Big Valley." In 1975, Swofford excelled on the mystery program "Ellery Queen," and in 1977, he played Al Barber on the large-scaled television miniseries "Rich Man, Poor Man - Book II." Also in the late 1970s, Swofford made his presence felt on the James Garner series "The Rockford Files," and he returned to the big screen for the Blake Edwards comedy "S.O.B." and the John Huston musical "Annie" in the early 1980s. Around this time, Swofford's problems with alcohol caught up with him, and he was involved in a drunk driving accident; after that incident, Swofford was a steady voice against drunk driving and appeared in the television film "M.A.D.D.: Mothers Against Drunk Drivers" in 1983. He won the recurring role of Morloch on the 1980s TV show "Fame," and he's rounded out his career with appearances on the mystery classics "Murder, She Wrote" and "Diagnosis Murder."
