Ken Girotti

Canadian TV director Ken Girotti has over 80 credits to his name. His directorial debut came on "The Littlest Hobo," an adventure serial following the exploits of a stray German Shepard. In 1989, Girotti joined Scottish-Canadian drama "The Campbells," lensing six episodes over its third and fourth seasons. Set in Ontario circa the 1830s, the series garnered recognition from the Gemini Awards for nearly every facet of its production. The '90s produced more opportunities for Girotti, who contributed to genre favorites like "Xena: The Warrior Princess" and "Le Femme Nikita." Girotti gained a greater international audience in the 2000s, contributing to primetime U.S. fare like FOX's political espionage actioner "24" and the Denis Leary-led FX firefighter drama, "Rescue Me." Girotti received a Gemini nod in 2006 for Best Direction in a Dramatic Series for "ReGenesis," a bio-crime saga that ran for four seasons in Canada. He scored a similar nomination two years later for "Menace." The two-hour docudrama recounted the story of four Canadian officers who lost their lives during a drug raid in Alberta. Though the Gemini eluded him, Girotti was honored by his peers; "Menace" won Best Direction in the Television Movie/Miniseries category at the Directors Guild of Canada Awards.
