Kellye Nakahara

Kellye Nakahara was an actress best known for the role of nurse Kellye Yamato on the TV series "M*A*S*H." Nakahara came to San Francisco to become a watercolor artist. She met David Wallett, whom she married and moved with to Los Angeles. There she pursued a career in acting and joined the cast of CBS's " M*A*S*H" in the middle of its first season. She remained with the show through its 11 seasons, her part gaining in stature each year. She continued to act occasionally after the show's end, appearing as the Cook in the 1985 comic mystery "Clue" and again playing a nurse in the children's comedy "3 Ninjas Kick Back." After small parts in the 1998 family comedy "Doctor Dolittle" and TV's teen comedy "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" in 1999, Nakahara disappeared from the screen, although she was still active as a watercolor artist in her home city of Pasadena, California. She also served as the arts commissioner for Pasadena. Kellye Nakahara died on February 17 2020 at the age of 73 following a ong battle with cancer.
