The BAU travels to San Diego to stop a rapist and murderer who commits his crimes in the middle of the day. The suspect appears to blend into the neighborhood so well the local authorities have been unable to capture him.

Alan's expectations for a first date with Nancy (Kelley West ), a woman he met while shopping for groceries, are far exceeded when she introduces him to a world of sex he never knew existed. Charlie is happy that his brother is getting to experience the kind of sex life he's always enjoyed, but he's not thrilled to take responsibility for Jake while Alan has his every fantasy fulfilled. When Alan starts thinking he loves this woman, Charlie realizes he must take action.

Charlie and Alan take Jake to a friend's house and go out for some sibling bonding at the movies, but their night is ruined when Alan freaks out after convincing himself that Jake was too eager to spend the weekend away from him. Recognizing that desperate times call for desperate measures, Charlie begins seeing a psychiatrist, Dr. Linda Freeman (JANE LYNCH -- "The 40-Year-Old Virgin"), ostensibly to learn how to cope with his brother's ever-increasing emotional instability.

After the disastrous scene at her parents' marriage recommitment ceremony, Lorelai begs Luke not to give up on their relationship. However, Luke's decision that he needs time alone leaves Lorelai devastated. Stranded at Yale without her car and worried about Lorelai's depressed state, Rory borrows Logan's (recurring guest star MATT CZUCHRY) limousine and driver and travels home to Stars Hollow to care for her mom. Meanwhile, Taylor (recurring guest star MICHAEL WINTERS) goads the town residents into taking sides on the Lorelai/Luke relationship.

Darwyn struggles to maintain his cover as he assumes command of a new Los Angeles sleeper cell and questions the experience and skill of his new FBI case agent; Farik's interrogators use new techniques to get him to talk.
