Kaya Yanar

Best known in Germany for his one man show that pokes fun at the xenophobia of Germans towards those of Mediterranean stock, Kaya Yanar was born in Franfurt am Main to Turkish immigrant parents. His show, entitled Was Guckst Du? Was a hit on German television, and was released in multiple volumes on DVD. He released three CDs over the course of his career, 2001's Suchst Du, 2003's Welttournee durch Deutschland, and 2008's Made In Germany. It was reported that his show was going off the air in 2006 so that Yanar could pursue a film career. ~ Chris True, Rovi
