Kay Cannon

After training with the respected improvisational comedy troupe Second City in Chicago, Kay Cannon had her first writing job as a staff writer for the NBC comedy "30 Rock" in 2007, for which she eventually earned several awards including an Emmy and a Peabody. Her talent for improv led to several onscreen roles in the series, as well as a supporting part in fellow "30 Rock" writer Donald Glover's low-key comedy film "Mystery Team." Cannon hopped onto a few new projects in 2012, penning several episodes of the quirky sitcom "New Girl" and scripting the all-girl musical comedy flick "Pitch Perfect."
