Actress Kara Killmer grew up in Crowley, Texas. After high school, Killmer attended Baylor University, where she studied performing arts and graduated in 2010. In 2010 Killmer appeared in the Hulu reality series "If I Can Dream." The series followed a number of creative people in a variety of fields who lived together in a house in Hollywood. The house was wired with cameras and the audience watched as each of the residents attempted to be successful in their chosen field. Killmer was the featured actress in the series, and appeared in all 32 episodes. Killmer next appeared in a small role in the series "Jane By Design"(ABC Family 2012). In 2013 she appeared as Sandra in "Rose the Imposer." In 2014 Killmer's big network break came when she was cast as Sylvie Brett in the procedural series "Chicago Fire" (NBC 2012-). Killmer's character also makes a recurring appearance on the show's spinoff "Chicago P.D." (NBC 2014-). In 2015 Killmer appeared in the Christian historical drama, "Beyond the Mask" (2015). The film takes place during the American Revolution and tells the story of a man hired as an assassin by the East India Company who must help the American colonists in order to redeem himself and be worthy of the woman he loves.
