Julia Michaels

American singer and songwriter of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent, Julia Michaels was born in Iowa and raised in California. Michaels began singing at age 12, but her career in entertainment would really begin a couple of years later, when she co-wrote the theme song to "Austin & Ally" (Disney, 2011-16). From then on, she wrote many songs for TV and film, and had her breakthrough moment writing for Demi Lovato and Fifth Harmony. She went on to co-write songs for acts such as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, and even performed at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. "Issues", her first solo single, came out in 2017, and was nominated for two Grammy awards. The same year, she debuted an EP, became part of the soundtrack for the TV series "Girls" (HBO, 2012-17) and performed as an opening act for Shawn Mendez during the Oceania leg of his world tour. In 2018, her song "Heaven" became part of the soundtrack for "Fifty Shades Freed" (2018) and she opened tour dates for Niall Horan and Maroon 5. In the following years, she would feature in the soundtrack of "Ralph Breaks the Internet" (2018) and "Wish" (2023), release her debut album "Not in Chronological order" (2022), and collaborate with various artists, such as Lauv, 5 Seconds of Summer and NF.
