The special victims unit is on the hot seat when a five-year-old sexual assault case is reopened just days before the statute of limitations ends, so Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) scramble to interview the three distinctly different victims, but are crushed when their legal maneuver to file an arrest warrant is denied. They and other SVU detectives are even more exasperated when they learn that one of the women (guest star Jenny Bacon) admits that she knows who the assailant is -- but won't tell because he now is a member of her church. Richard Belzer, Dann Florek and Michelle Hurd also star.

When an elderly man defends his shop from an armed robbery, Detectives Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) and Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) suspect that this incident could have been an inside job. After further investigation, the detectives discover that the mugging might have been a scare tactic for a shakedown. Also starring: S. Epatha Merkerson (Lieutenant Anita Van Buren), Sam Waterston (District Attorney Jack McCoy), Alana De La Garza (Connie Rubirosa), and Linus Roache (Michael Cutter).

A psychiatrist is found shot to death in his office, and Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) initially suspect one of his young patients. Clues lead the detectives to the doctor's jealous and much younger wife, Catherine (guest star Moira Kelly). The pressures of the case drive Catherine to admit her troubled past leading to his murder. The prosecuting team, Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) are then faced with the daunting task of convincing the jury that Catherine's troubled youth is no excuse for murder. A war widow with a possible grudge against the Army, Carly Di Gravia (guest star MacKenzie Mauzy), is found unconscious in the rubble of an Army Recruitment Center along with her lifeless infant. As detectives Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Bernard (Anthony Anderson) search for the bomber, they encounter Megaphone Bob, the leader of a group of war protesters, including Charles Cavell, whose sister was killed in Iraq. The detectives must also deal with the confusion that arises when "Operation Molly," a couple of fanatic citizens who like to work with the police to solve cases, gets involved. ADA's Michael Cutter (Linus Roache) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana de la Garza) efforts to bring the bomber to justice are complicated by potentially compromised evidence, reasonable doubt and public sentiment. DA Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) must make one of the most unpopular decisions of his career. Also stars S. Epatha Merkerson.

Goren and Eames investigate a gang of elegant predators led by a European (Michael York) who befriends, robs and kills tourists.
