Deacon discovers that Kirby wants to quit his football team and asks Doug to be his assistant coach in order to show Kirby what the spirit of the game is all about. Doug makes a deal with Kirby that if he'll continue to play football, Doug will try out for the Rebels, a semi-pro football team. Against Carrie's wishes, Doug recruits Danny to be his personal trainer who tricks him into thinking he's in better shape than he actually is.

Jeff's (Patrick Warburton) drive to be labeled an "optimal male" on his life-insurance physical leads him to some extreme behavior, while Adam's (Oliver Hudson) over-friendliness with an ex-girlfriend unsettles Jennifer (Bianca Kajlich). Meanwhile, Audrey (Megyn Price) attempts to lend Russell (David Spade) a helping hand to impress a girl (guest star Josie Davis) at a charity dinner.

Zack and Cody go on a game show to win cash and prizes, but Cody makes Zack promise that their game plan is to quit if they get ahead on not get greedy if they want to bow out. So, just when Zack is ready to quit while they're ahead, surprisingly it's Cody who wants to "Risk It All" and unfortunately they end up losing everything.

When Barbara, a woman who was adopted as a child, claims that her biological mother, Hilary, was murdered the day after Barbara was born, Rush and the team explore the world of unwed mothers and the maternity homes where they were hidden during the 1950s and '60s.

When Ron chaperones Gary on an out-of-town debate tournament, Gary learns the hard way what his teammates really think of him. Meanwhile, Angela volunteers to watch Brandon and Robby back at the house, ultimately leading to Brandon being homeless on the streets and Robby locking her in the shed.
