Jordan Charney
John Ritter's character on the seminal situation comedy "Three's Company" involved a fair share of assigned nemeses for his character of Jack Tripper. Among them was Frank Angelino, played for 13 episodes by Jordan Charney. As is often the case with L.A. actors, Charney's run on the ABC double-entendre laugh fest, beginning in 1979, led to an increase in his visibility among the town's casting directors. Recurring roles followed, first on "Falcon Crest" and later on "Santa Barbara" and "Dynasty." Charney also has a most intriguing repeat credit for Dick Wolf's "Law & Order." He has played the part of Judge Donald Karan in a number of different episodes, beginning in '00 and ending in '06. This repeated, sporadic use of Charney for courtroom gravitas speaks to the cleverness of how that whole franchise is run. Charney also played a judge on five episodes of "100 Centre Street," an '01 series on A&E directed by Sidney Lumet.
