Jon Walmsley

Born in Blackburn, England, Jon Walmsley began acting as a young boy, guest starring on the series "Daniel Boone" and "Combat!" in the mid-1960s. His breakthrough and most notable role came in 1971 when he landed the part of Jason Walton on the classic series "The Waltons." The show made Walmsley a household name in America; he could be seen on the show during a 10-year-run from 1971 to 1981. He would never escape the role of Jason, aside from a voice-acting part as Christopher Robin in 1977's "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." Despite a lack of variety of roles in his post-"Waltons" career, he did act in every one of "The Waltons" reunion shows and made-for-TV movies after the show's end in 1981. He took a break from acting after "A Walton Easter" in 1997 in order to focus more on his career in music production and composition. In 2009, Walmsley returned to television voicing the character Dasher in "Elf Sparkle Meets Christmas the Horse." He would voice another character in the second installment of the made-for-TV holiday movie series one year later as well as compose the movie's soundtrack.
