Johnny Russell
Johnny Russell was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "The 60th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry" (1985-86), "Hats Off to Minnie Pearl: America Honors Minnie Pearl" (The Nashville Network, 1992-93) and "Country's Family Reunion" (The Nashville Network, 1997-98). Russell also contributed music to "Drive-In" (1976) with Lisa LeMole. He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Christmas Country's Family Reunion" (1998-99), "Country's Family Reunion: Gospel" (The Nashville Network, 1998-99) and "Country's Family Reunion & the Young 'Uns" (The Nashville Network, 1999-2000). Russell's music was most recently featured in the Michael Angarano comedy "Gentlemen Broncos" (2009). In the early 2000s, Russell lent his talents to projects like "Grand Ole Opry 75th -- A Celebration" (CBS, 2000-01), the Denzel Washington and Will Patton box office smash "Remember the Titans" (2000) and "Andrew Jenks, Room 335" (Cinemax, 2007-08).
