John Snyder

After completing a BFA at the School of Fine and Applied Arts at Boston University, John Snyder ventured to New York City to try to build an acting career. His professional introduction to acting was playing the man at the gas station in the 1979 action movie "The Warriors." Upon its release, the film, about gangs in New York, did not do very well in the box office; however, it has since become a huge cult hit, giving even such a minor role significance among fans who study every frame of the film. Soon after, in 1985, Snyder landed a high-profile role on the hit cop program "Miami Vice," playing Albert Szarbo, a sleazy criminal who eventually suffers a violent death at the hands of an assassin. Following that role, work came steadily for Snyder. The next year, he could be seen in "Knight Rider," about an intelligent crime-fighting car; "Crocodile Dundee," a comedy about an eccentric Australian crocodile hunter in New York; and "Sid and Nancy," which told the tragic story of former Sex Pistol Sid Vicious. Snyder has since appeared in many eclectic productions, such as the sci-fi series "Star Trek: The Next Generation," the lifeguard drama "Baywatch Nights," and the crime show "Wiseguy," as well as in films like the cop comedy "K-9," the drama "Lovesick Diaries," and the action picture "Eraser."
