John Pickard

John Pickard was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Pickard started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Little Big Horn" (1951) with Lloyd Bridges, "Bugles in the Afternoon" (1952) with Ray Milland and "Arrowhead" (1953) with Charlton Heston. He also appeared in the comedy adaptation "Rose Marie" (1954) with Ann Blyth, "Arrow in the Dust" (1954) and the adaptation "Black Horse Canyon" (1954) with Joel McCrea. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the adaptation "To Hell and Back" (1955) with Audie Murphy, the biographical drama "The McConnell Story" (1955) with Alan Ladd and the western "The Lone Ranger" (1956) with Clayton Moore. He also appeared in "Friendly Persuasion" (1956). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "Charro!" (1969), the dramatic adaptation "True Grit" (1969) with John Wayne and the Jo Ann Harris crime picture "Act of Vengeance" (1974). Pickard was most recently credited in the Fraser Ayres documentary "Rage" (2001). Pickard passed away in August 1993 at the age of 80.
